Vieng Tai Public Park

Vieng Tai Public Park is the heart of play in Pai — the town’s main public playground and the only one of its kind.
The park features two playgrounds: the main area is home to a large elephant-shaped climbing structure with a fast trunk slide, several swings arranged in a circle facing each other, and a giant rope dragon swing that’s always popular with kids. A smaller playground nearby is perfect for toddlers, with age-appropriate swings, slides, and a climbing frame.
Beyond the play equipment, families will find a small court for shooting hoops and a wide open field where children can play football or simply run free.
The park is lively throughout the day, especially after school and during the Saturday community market, making it both a play destination and a gathering place for local families.
Plenty of parking for cars and motorbikes all around the park.
Pam Klang Public Park

Pam Klang Public Park is a peaceful lakeside spot in a small local town, offering a quieter atmosphere than the main playground in Pai.
The newly built playground includes swings, slides, and climbing equipment, perfect for children to enjoy while parents & caregivers can also make use of the outdoor exercise equipment. The park comes alive around dusk, once the heat of the day has lifted, when Thai families gather to play, walk, and spend time together by the lake.
Toast Office

Toast Office is a cheerful café where families are warmly welcomed from the moment they arrive — starting with the giant happy monster that greets you at the entrance.
Outside, little ones can enjoy a fenced-in play area designed with toddlers in mind. There are small slides, an assortment of toys, and even climbing walls (rock and rope) with padded flooring for safe play. Inside, the fun continues with drawing and colouring tables — you can even purchase illustrated colouring sheets on site to keep the creativity flowing.
For parents, Toast Office serves a full food and drinks menu and offers blissfully strong air conditioning indoors. Kids will love the fish tank, while active families can make the most of bicycle rentals, including kids’ bikes and child seats for exploring Pai together.

The Happy Coconut

The Happy Coconut is Pai’s answer to rainy days, smoky season, and hot afternoons — a bright, air-conditioned indoor play centre where kids can run, jump, and explore to their heart’s content.
The space is packed with fun: a beautiful soft play set with hundreds of balls, ride-on toys, interactive play stations, trampoline, slide, swings, chalkboard, dress-up costumes, and more. It’s a safe, colourful environment designed to keep little ones engaged while parents take a breather.
Entry is by the hour: 100 baht per hour for foreigners / 70 baht per hour for Thai residents, with concession cards offering further discounts.
All adults and children must wear socks — but don’t worry if you forget, you can purchase a pair at the counter.
There’s a full menu of food and drinks available.
Free Bird Cafe

Free Bird Café Pai is more than just a place to eat — it’s a plant-based Shan restaurant and a social enterprise with heart. Serving fresh vegetarian Burmese and Shan dishes, the café donates 100% of its profits to education and empowerment projects supporting refugees and marginalised communities across Northern Thailand and Myanmar.
For families, Free Bird offers thoughtful touches to make your visit easier: a cosy indoor play area with a small play kitchen, bean bag, and toys; a basket of outdoor toys; and even oracle card decks that older kids or teens may enjoy. There’s also a spacious garden to explore — a lovely spot for little ones to stretch their legs (just be mindful of the herbs and veggies growing there).

Jasombat Coffee House

Jasombat Coffee House is a charming roadside café that pairs excellent coffee with a playful twist — a putting green where both kids and adults can have a go. With plenty of golf clubs and balls to choose from, little ones will love practicing their swing while parents relax with a drink.
The café itself is warm and welcoming, run by a kind couple known for their hospitality. The menu offers more than just coffee — tasty snacks like grilled pork and chicken skewers are highly recommended — all enjoyed with beautiful mountain views.
For families, the grassy putting area doubles as a safe space for children to run around. There are also swings and a couple of bouncy ride-on animals to keep the youngest visitors happy.
Chai Tea Shop

Chai Tea Shop is a tranquil spot tucked out in nature. The café serves only drinks, but offers free seasonal snacks from their garden, like dried banana chips, tamarind, or peanuts.
Kids will find plenty to explore here. There’s a swing, rope ladders, old ride-on toys, and a bag of building blocks and playthings. The open-air setting gives children space to roam while parents enjoy a quiet moment with tea.
What makes Chai Tea Shop extra special for families is the fish pond. You can buy food to feed the enormous catfish, and even take the kids out on the bamboo raft for a closer look — always a delight for young visitors.

Barbari Bakery

Barbari Bakery is a great place for families with young children.
Upstairs, there’s a cozy room with low tables and floor seating, plus building blocks and puzzles to keep kids happily entertained while you enjoy a meal.
Downstairs, kids will love helping themselves to free water and butterfly pea tea, a magical blue drink that’s as fun to look at as it is to sip.
Isaan Kitchen

Isaan Kitchen brings the bold, vibrant flavours of Northeastern Thailand to Pai. A favourite lunchtime stop for locals. Out front, you’ll often see a lady grilling large catfish, a specialty that pairs perfectly with sticky rice and is especially popular with kids. The full menu offers plenty of other delicious options too, all freshly made and bursting with flavour.
While there isn’t a dedicated play area, there is one special toy that delights little visitors: a hand-carved wooden rocking motorbike, just the right size for toddlers and preschoolers. It’s a simple but charming touch that can keep little ones happily occupied while adults enjoy their meal.
The Green View

Good Life Dacha is one of Pai’s most well-known spots, offering accommodation, a restaurant, and a herbal sauna with ice bath — but it also happens to be a surprisingly family-friendly hangout. With a relaxed, communal vibe, children are always around, whether it’s the staff’s little ones or families stopping by after playing across the road at the main playground.
There are plenty of places to linger, with a ping pong table, a cozy library, and a large carved stone bath filled with water, a fountain, and toy animals like dinosaurs, crocodiles, and turtles that little ones love. A shallow fish pool near the bathrooms holds real fish alongside a toy pirate ship, sparking endless curiosity. The spacious courtyard provides room to run or spin around, while the background music sets an inviting tone without ever being too loud.
